Winter Forest, Snowy Solstice

For an early night in and some me time, warm tea with honey, and my quiet cozy covers around, I gather myself in calm. Need something else, something transformative, another level of magic in my atmosphere. I gather my bottles on the bed and smell each one until they speak to each other. What manifests is this .... a blend of these four beauties...

Patchouli Dark
Cinnamon Bark
Bergamot
Rosemary

(all above essential oils, by Plant Guru)

In my bedroom diffuser, tepid water, a few drops of each oil, Cinnamon last to change a cold dark forest into a cheerful holiday winter wonderland. And it being April, me slowly recovering from a long bout of pneumonia, this is a surprise, a snowy solstice in Spring! The aromatic mist beside me brings memories of a childhood jaunt in a sunny green forest, a Christmastime in Pinetop, AZ. I am about 10 years old, playing by myself out in the melting snow and chilly mountain air. My parents and siblings rest inside a small condo nearby. I kick at frozen mud, collect pine cones and fir needles, and watch the glittering crystal flakes fall in circles from treetops around me.

I want to remember this feeling again. So I take a photo of the bottles. But I need somewhere to put it! I need to write something down before it is lost again to another 30 years of being forgotten! And that is how this blog was born.
